We can export images and shapes of various format from outside in Photoshop. One of the kind is Smart Objects. Actually what happened what is it and what happen when we export as smart objects. Lets See.
A Smart Object is an embedded file that appears in its own layer in Photoshop. It can be recognized by seeing a thumbnail in photo shop Layer. Smart object Layers are some how a little bit different from the regular
layer. The main difference is that smart object layers content are directly linked to its source file from where it came. Any change in the source file also effect the layer. It has advantage and disadvantage.
The main advantage of it is that you can re-size a smart object without decreasing its quality, the quality remains the same. Suppose you have a normal image in a normal photo shop layer. Now re-size it in a very small size, save it and now again make it in its original size. You will notice the quality of the image degraded. But it will not happened in a smart object.
But the main disadvantage is that if source file changed then the layer will also be affected. The solution is that fetch files as smart object make the change the rasterize the layer. You can rasterize a layer by simply right click on the layer and select the rasterize layer options. It will break the link with source file and make a regular layer.
